In this seminary course, students become fictitious reviewers of research in the field of sustainability management. They present and discuss basic works as well as current empirical studies, considering criteria of good scientific work and writing. They also discuss different methodological approaches and have the opportunity to exchange ideas with international researchers in the field of sustainability management.
The event gives a broad overview of sustainability management in the day-to-day business of companies. This includes, e.g., the development of a sustainability strategy, the measurement of sustainability performance, the management of projects and sustainability reporting. The students are prepared for a potential activity in the sustainability management of an organization with the help of lectures and the independent processing of tasks. In addition, you will receive through guest lectures, podcasts, practical talks or the like. Current insights into the everyday work of sustainability managers.
Many sustainability problems arise from certain individual and collective beliefs, values, assumptions and social norms. In order to achieve the 17 goals of sustainable development, these mindsets must often be changed. This is exactly where the “Sustainability Mindset” event comes in.

The sustainability mindset is a way of thinking and a way of life. This includes a broad understanding of our ecosystem, social problems and our personal values ​​and is expressed in sustainable actions.

The focus of the course is the reflection of one's own values ​​and beliefs and cultural and world views on the one hand and the development of a sustainable way of thinking and living on the other.

In the event, students deal with the 12 sustainability mindset principles, which the lecturer combines with examples from the business world and sustainability management. The 12 principles can be broken down into 4 fields:
