Contents

The lecture is dedicated to Patent Law as part of Intellectual Property. In particular, the patent requirements, the invention concept, software patents, patents related to biotechnology, the patent procedure and patent infringement are considered, as well as the basics of the patent evaluation and patent management. In addition, the lecture provides insights into European Patent Law (WTO, TRIPs) and international patent-related convenient.

Competencies / intended learning achievements

Upon successful completion of the modules, students will be able to
  • Evaluate the application of the different protection rights from an economic and legal point of view
  • Distinguish between the different protection options and their requirements
