  • Explanation of the phases of the Usability-Engineering-Lifecycle (e.g., analysis, prototyping, evaluation, …)
  • Design of interactions and dialogs for human-machine-interfaces
  • Modern techniques of interaction (e.g., Augmented Reality, gesture-based interaction, …)
  • Evaluation of human-machine-interfaces
  • Practical semester projects covering the focus of research at the IFS (e.g., mobile assistance, Augmented Reality, …)

Competencies / intended learning achievements

The students will be able to
  • report the state of the art of the field Useware-Engineering.
  • analyse the requirements of a human-machine-interface.
  • work out and assess different drafts.
  • evaluate drafts, interpret the results and to make suggestions for improvement.
  • present and defend their results in a plenum and assess other concepts.
