Contents
Competencies / intended learning achievements
The following expertises will be promoted:
- Explain the differences between the monotonic static and cyclic strength of metallic materials as well as describe the fatigue process
- Evaluate the fatigue strength of cyclically loaded metallic materials using statistically and physically based method
- The knowledge of the relationships between microstructure, cyclic deformation and fatigue mechanisms of steels and light metals
- Explain the influencing factors on fatigue strength of metallic materials and give examples
- Explain the physical fundamentals of non-destructive measuring methods for the characterization of cyclic deformation behavior and fatigue
