Evaluation of grades

The module is not graded (only study achievements)..


In collaboration with students from Zweibrücken University and an industrial partner, a design task is carried out in the Crowd Engineering laboratory, from requirements creation to design and implementation in industrial operations.

The focus is on getting to know and implementing innovative methods of collaboration.

Divided into different groups, subtasks are divided into requirements engineering, design engineering, user experience and software development. For this purpose, the complete design task will be performed using the web-based CAD tool OnShape, which enables the complete design in a browser.

In consultation with the other partners, a design task is set and the amount of work is determined for each team.

Subsequently, the components are worked out by the individual students and then assembled.

Competencies / intended learning achievements

Students will be able to
  • create a specification sheet according to customer requirements and manage it in an appropriate tool environment.
  • operate the CAD tool OnShape
  • create simple designs in OnShape
  • clarify requirements for a design task with a team, derive own tasks and explain them
  • explain the dynamic aspects of a design in a team effort
  • explain the advantages and disadvantages of cloud-based systems
