Contents

The course Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) using the example of PTC Windchill and ARAS Innovator is offered as a lecture with accompanying exercise (V/Ü). The course is supported by several partner companies from the industry.

PLM is the management of product data and technical processes throughout the product life cycle. In the lecture

  • the general structure of a PLM strategy as well as
  • the application functions of PLM solutions

will be presented and in-depth topics such as

  • Technical organization,
  • economic evaluation,
  • Sustainability assessment,
  • process management and PLM implementation

will be covered.

In the complementary exercises, participants apply the theoretical knowledge using a PLM solution. The participants use PTC Windchill, PTC Creo and ARAS Innovator.

Competencies / intended learning achievements

Students will be able to
  • describe complex scenarios in a PLM environment
  • break down practical / realistic problems into their components and develop a plan for solving them
  • explain the meaning of "thinking in processes"
  • develop solution concepts according to role-based case studies in a team
  • explain differences between PLM concepts
