Laboratory experiments:
  • Particle size distributions
  • Mixing
  • Filtration
  • Laboratory ball mill
  • Jenike shear cell

A laboratory report must be prepared for each experiment.

Competencies / intended learning achievements

The students are able to
  • describe the theoretical basics of the laboratory experiments
  • reproduce the implementation and the results of the laboratory experiments
  • explain the application of the theoretical basics to the practical experiment
  • calculate derived results on the basis of the measured values
  • prepare laboratory reports on the laboratory experiments carried out
  • analyze errors
  • relate the results of the laboratory experiments to the expected values and to test the plausibility of the results
  • evaluate the results of the laboratory experiments

When preparing the laboratory reports in group work, the evaluation of the results of the laboratory experiments must be discussed.
