Evaluation of grades

All protocols must have been graded 4.0 or better. The module grade is the average of the protocol grades.

Contents

  • Simple chemical experiments from the fields of general and inorganic chemistry
  • Basic laboratory techniques; handling of chemicals; application of the hazardous substances ordinance
  • Application of theoretical concepts in practice
  • Performance of simple basic process engineering operations (e.g. distillation, extraction, filtration)
  • Introduction to analytical work (e.g. photometry, titration, gravimetry)
  • Storage of chemicals and proper disposal of waste

Competencies / intended learning achievements

Graduates of the internship know the first scientific basics of chemical and process engineering laboratory work, have practical skills and a basic understanding of how to handle chemicals. The graduates can apply their knowledge of chemical substances, are able to carry out simple chemical experiments and analyze the results of the experiments using the methods of the subject. On the basis of the practical knowledge acquired, they will be able to classify facts and topics in chemistry and process engineering in a professional manner.
