Competencies / intended learning achievements

Students will be able to
  • name processes and application areas of the finishing of technical surfaces by coating and conversion processes
  • understand mechanical and electrochemical coating and plating processes
  • name fusion coating processes
  • distinguish between metallic, non-metallic and organic coatings
  • name physical finishing processes for metals and non-metals (PVD, CVD)
  • to select surface analysis methods
