- About [MAT-SEM-KPOOL-7]: A course from the course pool must be selected.
Evaluation of grades
The module is not graded (only study achievements)..
Advanced topic from their chosen field of mathematical specialisation, see the respective course description.
Competencies / intended learning achievements
Upon successful completion of this module, the students have learned to work independently on an advanced mathematical topic from their chosen field of specialisation using scientific methods and to present the topic in the form of a lecture. They have acquired in-depth skills in the presentation of mathematical results and are able to present and defend these results in critical discussions.
see the respective course description.
The registration for the seminar and preliminary discussions typically take place towards the end of the lecture period of the preceding semester.
Requirements for attendance (informal)
Depending on the choice of topic, different courses from the Bachelor's programme or the Master's programme in Mathematics are required. The requirements will be announced together with the announcement of the seminar.
