Competencies / intended learning achievements

After successfully completing the module, students will be able to
  • reflect the foundations of civil and corporate law
  • solve simple civil and corporate law cases independently
  • apply the law to legal cases,
  • determine different types of contracts,
  • summarize the fundamentals of contract law,
  • formulate simple case solutions in the style of an expert opinion,
  • propose suitable corporate forms according to the different requirements,
  • argue legally in the context of simple facts,
  • combine civil and corporate law issues,
  • understand basic legal terms and legal working methods,
  • understand the basic division into legal fields,
  • know the basic principles of the German Civil Code,
  • know the basic features of the German state organization,
  • know the special areas of law such as data protection and freedom of information law or copyright law.
