Contents

The primary task in the architectural design process is the transformation of ideas and concepts into spatial structures. The design methods and strategies applied are critically analysed, reflected on and further developed in the seminar. The “material“ ultimately serves as a means of expression for the cognitive transformation. Selection, suitability and quality of the material become the determining design criteria. For this reason, the seminar deals in particular with the interrelation of material – function – design. The aim is to test a design thesis experimentally in structural reality, simultaneously applying innovative digital and analogue forming processes.
