Evaluation of grades

All partial module examinations have to be passed. The module grade is the arithmetic mean of all partial examination grades.


Contents

  • Recording and representation of spatial shapes and objects
  • Geometry as a classification system for spatial thinking
  • Characteristics and production criteria of basic designs
  • Geometrical drawing methods of parallel and central projection for representation
  • Practical implementation of spatial objects represented in different ways, for example site map, ground plans, views, sectional drawings, axonometric projections and perspectives
  • Conditions and methods of reconstruction of information about spatial objects from drawing
  • Solving spatial problems, e.g. constructions of intersections, connections, roof designs, handling terrain, shadow constructions, reflections,
  • Drawing as a means of spatial thinking, design, representation and communication

Students who successfully complete this module will be able to

  • understand geometrical spatial concepts and illustration methods,
  • apply these in architectural design and representations,
  • develop and change notional spatial objects and think spatially,
  • structure complex problems
  • purposefully use different types of representation in architectural drawings.

Requirements for attendance (informal)

No previous knowledge is required. Basic knowledge of geometry, systematic structured thinking, spatial sense and geometric drawing skills are advantageous for successful participation in this module.
