Examination achievement PL1

  • Form of examination: written exam (Klausur) (90-120 Min.)
    Prerequisites for the award of credit points (in particular examinations, attendance certificates):
    • ungraded academic achievements: regular participation in courses
    • semesters 1 + 2 will be completed with an exam at the end of the second semester. There is a theoretical part without aids and a practical part with aids of 60 minutes each

The grade of the module examination is also the module grade.


Contents

Construction and material are the basis for all areas of building. In the form of structural designs appropriate for the material involved, they are integral parts of architectural designs – the architecture, construction and material of a building are closely related. In the subject “construction”, students are taught about the structural and deformation behaviour of structural elements, supporting structures and structural systems. In the subject “material” the aim is to convey the way things work mechanically depending on the materials commonly used in the building industry.

Desired learning outcomes:

Students who successfully complete this module will be able to

  • apply the basics of structural design
  • evaluate the load and deformation behaviour of supporting structures and structural variants
  • carry out load specifications, determine static forces and carry out material-related measurements of selected structural components
  • describe the mechanical material properties of different materials and place them in relation to supporting structures
  • draw up basic structural designs
