Competencies / intended learning achievements

The students will be able to
  • put an axis into operation with a PLC.
  • interpret a rotary encoder signal and connect the sensor to the PLC.
  • program a PLC.
  • model an axis (with MATLAB / Simulink) and design its control loop with the help of the model.
  • dimension and design an electromagnet.
  • dimension, solder and test an analogue PD-control loop circuit.
