- Introduction into the topic; basics and understanding of integration, interdisciplinarity and networking in the context of Industrial Internet (including Industry 4.0, Internet of Things and Services)
- Fundamentals of discipline-specific product development: design theory of mechanics
- Fundamentals of discipline-specific production: systems of production, design of manufacturing processes
- Fundamentals of discipline-specific process and plant engineering: product design and process engineering
- Design of microelectronic circuits and systems
- Fundamentals of information processing, embedded systems
- Software Engineering for Cyber-Physical Systems
- Design of Cyber-Physical Systems
- Business models for the Internet of Things and Services

Competencies / intended learning achievements
Students will be able to
- explain the basics of systems engineering
- explain the necessity of interdisciplinary product development
- reflect concepts of discipline-specific development
- explain the interaction of mechanics, electrics and software
- explain concepts of systems engineering in process engineering
- understand new business models, link them to products and explain the need for new business models
- describe a simple mechatronic or cybertronic product in an interdisciplinary manner
- converse with peers in mechanical, electrical, computer science, and industrial engineering about a product and communicate the specific requirements of a product
