- Legal basis for apparatus engineering (EU directives on product safety, CE marking, pressure equipment directive 2014/68 / EU, European standards)
- Apparatus construction (safety requirements, hazard analysis, construction elements of apparatus construction, design guidelines)
- Basics for the strength calculation of apparatus elements (shells, bottoms, nozzles, flanges) with static and dynamic stress
- Design of equipment according to DIN EN 13445 and AD 2000
- Apparatus materials (ferrous materials, non-ferrous materials, non-metals)
- Apparatus production processes
- Apparatus audit
Competencies / intended learning achievements
1. Lecture:
Students are able to
- reflect the legal requirements for the product development of apparatus
- reflect the safety requirements of apparatus in accordance with the pressure equipment directive 2014/68/EU
- explain the construction elements of apparatus and plant engineering
- explain the basics of the strength calculation or the design of the most important construction elements
- reflect the design guidelines for apparatus
- reproduce materials, manufacturing and audit methods for apparatus
2. Exercise:
Students are able to
- independently calculate the basic components of apparatus and systems, such as shells, bottoms, nozzles, flanges, etc. under static and dynamic stress
- analyze pressure vessels with regard to their hazard potential in accordance with the pressure equipment directive 2014/68/EU
