1. Lecture

The students are able to

  • reproduce and name, describe, evaluate and apply knowledge of design fundamentals and design guidelines and to name, analyze and select corresponding design materials.
  • reproduce, analyze, evaluate, select and apply knowledge of standards, fits, tolerances and tolerance zones.
  • dimension and analyze elements and systems and perform strength calculations.
  • name, describe, analyze, assign, select, and evaluate elastic elements and springs.
  • name different types of bolts, evaluate, analyze, size, and design bolts or bolted connections.
  • reproduce knowledge of shafts and axles and name, describe, analyze and evaluate them.

2. Exercise

Based on given examples, students will be able to

  • apply design guidelines and the basics of construction
  • analyze and apply standards, fits and tolerances
  • design, analyze and evaluate elements and systems

3. Tutorial

Based on given examples, students will be able to
