Competencies / intended learning achievements

The students are able to
  • explain the concept of energy and name different forms of energy,
  • describe and calculate basic energy conversion processes on the basis of thermodynamic and physical relationships,
  • name and characterize different fuels,
  • explain the properties and areas of application of various energy converters and storage systems,
  • name and explain measures to reduce pollutant and CO2 emissions from internal combustion engines,
  • evaluate and calculate the CO2 emissions of various fuels and energy conversion processes.
