Students will be able to
- achieve basic knowledge as well as evaluation and selection competence concerning contemporary joining techniques in industrial manufacturing
- systematically select joining techniques according to DIN 8593
- understand fundamental mechanisms of different joining technologies
- apply joining processes in industrial production and to select process-specific production equipment
- master process- and material-specific requirements
- understand selection criteria and methods of quality assurance in joining
