The achievement to be provided usually consists of the combination of an oral presentation (duration 30-90 minutes), a project presentation and a written elaboration (project report, usually as group work).
Contents
Proseminar in a field of business mathematics, exemplary presentation of the modelling cycle on the basis of specific problems from the field of economics.
Competencies / intended learning achievements
The students have learned to independently work on a business mathematics topic and to present it in a suitable form. They are familiar with the basic principles of mathematical modelling and have learned (as preparation for the course [MAT-25-10W-K-4]) how to cooperate in teams to develop initial solutions to problems in industry and business. They have realised how the concepts learned in the module [MAT-10-1-M-2] such as norm, vector space, sequences and series, continuity, differentiability and extreme values can be used in an application-related context.
