Contents
- concept of the BIM method, interoperability across disciplines and life cycle phases
- standards and data formats (e.g. IFC, GAEB, COBie, BIMsie ..)
- persistence in databases and files, data consistency
- multi-models/ partial-models, domain-specific model views and geometric representations
- distributed (collaborative) work, BIM servers and services
- importance of BIM for Facility Management and possibilities of use
- introduction of a BIM (modeling-)software (e.g. Revit) and editing a project
Competencies / intended learning achievements
On successfully completing the module students will be able to,
- know the application area of Building Information Modeling and the resulting added value for Real Estate and Facility Management
- know the contents of information models, relevant standards and software that supports BIM
- using a BIM (modeling-)software (e.g. Revit) and successfully handle modelling tasks with increased complexity.
